As Pure Vans enters 2017, its eighth year in business, managing director David Greenhaf is extremely positive in his outlook.

“We’ve recently bought new premises, with work on them starting shortly. Business is going really well and with our financial year having just finished, we have seen a healthy increase in sales, year on year, since we started. The future is looking bright.”
Pure Vans has already achieved a major milestone in January, having sold a vehicle to their 5,000th customer.

David commented: “This is amazing. When I started in 2009 I never dreamt of selling that many vans, I was happy to sell a few each week and take home a salary. I feel now that with the team we have on board, anything is possible and look forward to selling the next 5,000!” Since Pure Vans started every year has seen a healthy growth on the previous year and in December the Company purchased a site, formerly known as Motor Crest Garage, on the junction of Telford St and Corporation Rd.

The previous proprietor, Bob Sweeney, a very well known local figure in Newport, had occupied the site for 40 years and wanted to ensure it was sold to someone looking to improve it and keep it as a base for a successful local business and was more than happy to sell to Pure Vans.

Plans for converting the new premises have been drawn up and will have showroom facilities as well as space for additional sales and administration staff. David Greenhaf said: “Our investment in the new premises is in the region of £250,000 and these are really exciting times for us. My ambition has always been to create a substantial business based in Newport and we are now on our way. Our current staff are very experienced and knowledgeable and work extremely well together.

When we move we will be looking to add to our team if we can find the right people.”

In addition to moving premises, and, as well as the venture into leisure conversions with Pure VWCampers, Pure Vans have now expanded, with a presence in Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield. In each of these areas the company has associates who, in turn, all have a great deal of experience in light commercial vehicle sales.

“This seemed a natural progression. We have known each other through business for some time and we sell more vehicles in their area than they do, and vice versa in our area, so it made sense to combine. This move coupled with our recent partnership will increase our stability and see us grow to our next stage,” Dave said.

The company has also negotiated a partnership with a major national electrical wholesale company, becoming a preferred supplier for their extensive list of customers. This partnership has recently commenced and several vans have been sold to date. Pure Vans’ association with Close Brothers Motor Finance has continued to flourish with more than £7,000,000 of business being passed to them.

Neil Richardson, head of key accounts told Voice: “We are extremely happy with our long standing relationship with Pure Vans. Since they started we have seen the company grow considerably but they have not lost sight of their objectives, the customer always comes first. The quality of their business is excellent and to date we have not received anything but good feedback from their customers. We look forward to a long continued relationship.”
