The Waterloo Inn of Nash has a new landlord, Adam Edmonds – a local man who lives just a stone throw away from this classic pub

“I have fond memories here,” said Adam.

“This is my local pub, and I’m here to bring back the traditional values and community spirit in which the Waterloo was well-known for.
“It has always been the perfect stop off point for people visiting the Newport Wetlands, which is located just down the road.

“Dog walkers, hikers and cyclists are always welcome, as we know that they love to explore this beautiful part of the Welsh coastal countryside.

“Food will play a major part at The Waterloo Inn, and this will be represented by the culinary talents of head chef Alan Logan, who is famous for his great-tasting pub grub, including his signature dish of Chicken Elliot.

“Food will be served every day of the week at both lunch and evening, where we offer a fantastic senior citizen lunchtime deal priced at £8.50 for two courses. This amazing deal is available Monday to Saturday from noon until 2.30pm.

“During evening service, we will have and extensive a la carte menu, full of traditional pub grub fare and an amazing specials board, filled with fantastic dishes made from fresh seasonal produce.

“We’ll also have some great offers too, including a curry night on Tuesday where diners will be able to enjoy two curries for £13, a pie night on Thursday, and special themed evenings on Wednesdays featuring food from around the world.

“Sunday lunch will be available at £8.95 for one course, served fresh from oven to plate each week. There will always be four different roasts to choose from, as well as a fish dish and a vegetarian option too.
Additionally, there will be selected options from the main menu, as not everyone wants to enjoy a traditional roast on a Sunday.

“Sunday lunch has already been a great success, and a version of it is available as part of the two courses for £8.50 on the senior citizen menu throughout the week.

“Don’t forget to book a table for dad this Father’s Day, as it shouldn’t be just mum who gets spoiled!

“Another thing that we’ll be introducing to the menu is afternoon tea, priced at £25 for two people. We will also be offering high tea, which includes a bottle of Prosecco at £45. This will be available by appointment only – served from noon until 5pm.

“Children won’t be left out either, as we have a superb selection of freshly prepared meals priced at £5.50 each, which includes a fruit shoot drink.

“Entertainment-wise, we’ll be having live music once a month on the last Saturday of the month, plus a quiz night every Mondayevening, where contestants can win a £20 food or drink voucher to be spent at the bar
or restaurant.

“We’re looking to start our own darts and pool teams too, so if you’re interested in joining a team, come and pay us a visit.

“Being located directly opposite to St Mary’s the Virgin, we’re perfect for
weddings, Christenings and wakes that are held at the church. We can cater for all sorts of functions too, offering hot or cold buffets, and seven-course meals – all you need to do is ask!

“All in all, we want to Waterloo to be a great local pub that welcomes everyone through its doors. So why not come and pay us a visit this summer? We look forward to seeing you very soon!”
