Set below Wentwood Forest in the picturesque Usk Valley, this inn was traditionally a 17th century Welsh Longhouse. Boasting original open log fires, award-winning gardens and welcoming friendly staff, all add to the inn’s classic charm.

The kitchen is run by head chef Nessie, who has worked in the Greyhound’s kitchen for more than 25 years.

All the food at the Greyhound is sourced locally from traditional Welsh suppliers and is expertly prepared and cooked to the highest standard.

You can order a meal at any time during normal opening hours and there’s also a selection of sandwiches and other light snacks available at lunchtime.

The Inn and Hotel is open daily from 11am until midnight, with the exception of Sunday, and it closes at 4pm.

Popular dishes on the menu include beer-battered fish and chips, liver and bacon, homemade lasagne, and options from the grill.

Tea and cake is served from 3pm until 5pm Monday to Saturday, and there’s no better place to enjoy a brew within the Usk countryside.

There’s also a private dining area that you can book for your special occasions or get togethers, which can easily accommodate up to 30 people for a sit-down meal or 75 plus for a buffet-style gathering.

Owner Kelly can create bespoke menus for any occasion, whether you need a hot or cold buffet for a wake, or a five-course wedding breakfast for your big day – all you need to do is ask.

You can choose to dine within the restaurant and lounge areas or opt to enjoy your food outside in the gardens (weather permitting).

If you are planning a wedding, you may also stay the night in the beautifully converted stone stable block, situated the middle of the Greyhound’s awardwinning gardens, this gorgeous building houses ten large en suite bedrooms all fitted with modern day facilities.
