ACT Training has hundreds of opportunities and vacancies, specifically for young people, who are looking to get started in the world of work or improve on their career prospects.

Each year they help over 10,000 people achieve their career ambitions through their wide range of training programmes and employment opportunities across Wales.

ACT Apprenticeships deliver positive, lifechanging results. Nineteen-year-old Stella left school realising the classroom wasn’t the right learning environment for her. Through ACT she discovered work-based learning pathways and career options that she previously didn’t know existed, as well as a passion for construction.

Since completing a Traineeship in construction with ACT, Stella’s life has completely transformed. Traineeship routes are a fantastic Pre-Apprenticeship training programme that prepares 16-18 years for the world of work.

With support from ACT, Stella has progressed quickly and is now a Construction Apprentice at the Vale of Glamorgan Council.

“I recommend the different career opportunities ACT offers as there’s so many different paths you can choose, from construction through to cooking and hairdressing, and it’s a really great environment to learn in. I prefer working on the job than being stuck in a classroom writing stuff
down.

“My Traineeship involved interacting with lots of different people and learning so many new skills in a hands-on way. Through my Traineeship I’ve learnt that I can do anything I put my mind to. It really is the best thing that’s ever happened to me – I feel like a better person because of it.”
