Located on the outskirts of Newport in 50 acres of grounds, the school site gives pupils the opportunity to learn and play safely and securely. Whether pupils are discovering nature in the Outdoor Classroom, playing hockey on the Astro Turf, or experimenting in the labs of the Science and Technology Building, Rougemont has something for every child.
 

The school’s 2012 Estyn inspection report rated Rougemont as “excellent” and “among the highest performing schools in Wales”. The report also highlighted the school’s “wide range of extra-curricular activities”, “individualised support for pupils” and noted that pupils” “behaviour is exemplary”.
Rougemont is, by choice, not a highly selective school, but pupils consistently achieve outstanding academic results due to a committed and successful teaching staff.


A-level and GCSE results continued to follow an excellent pattern in 2015, witha 100 per cent A-level pass rate. 68 per cent of A-level entries resulted in A* to B grades and all pupils who applied achieved places at university. AS-levels were equally strong and 50 per cent of all entries at GCSE were awarded A*/A grades (National Average 24%).


Aiming to remain competitive and accessible, nursery fees start from just £20 per half day session and all school fees are payable by direct debit at no extra cost. While the school is situated in Newport, our extensive bus system allows pupils to come from across South East Wales.
