Martial Arts is not a new phenomenon, however in recent years more and more studies have proven the positive effects of training.

These studies include improving cognitive thinking by 50%, better circulation, lowering stress levels and strengthening your immune system.

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean Martial Art, which describes its purpose as ‘Self Defense, Health and Better Person’.

Tang Soo Do offers family friendly training that is about promoting a positive life style mixed with regular challenges that help build character and can give focus and mindfulness.

Heads of the Valleys Tang Soo Do has been a dream of two local Martial Arts Instructors for many years and finally now it is a reality.

Angus Rogers and Jemma Morgan have been practicing Martial Arts for over twenty years after starting training together in Blaenavon.

After ten years of running clubs at Leisure Centers across the Torfaen and Blaenau Gwent area, they have now decided to jointly open a new club at their very own premises – Unit 4 Noble Square, Industrial Estate. NP23 4BS.

On Tuesday January 3rd, Wales Tang Soo Do was officially opened by the Mayor of Balenau Gwent, Councilor Barrie Sutton.

“It’s great to see such devotion in a club – not only from its teachers, but also from its students,” said Barrie.

“I wish Angus and Jemma the very best for the future, and hope that their project is a huge success.”

The club will offer all the facilities needed for a professional training facility, providing seven classes a week, private tuition, cardio classes, and also special seminars such as Women’s Self Defense and Anti Bullying.

Heads of the Valleys Tang Soo Do will be running classes for beginners of ages 6 and up every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm and Saturday mornings 10am.
