Dragons 2017/18 Memberships are now on sale. The eagerly awaited Memberships launch comes following last month’s take-over by the Welsh Rugby Union. Dragons CEO Stuart Davies said:

“We are at the start of an exciting new chapter as we evolve into a successful, thriving and sustainable region both on and off the field.

“The launch of our 2017/18 Membership packages represents the first opportunity for supporters across the region to join us on our journey.”

Dragons have decided to commit to a price freeze on all Seasonal Memberships for the next three seasons (up to and including 2019/20). Supporters are able to enjoy a season of action at Rodney Parade from just £99, and have also introduced Free Junior Memberships when bought with a paying adult.

Dragons Seasonal Members for 2017/18 will receive entry to all home matches in the Guinness PRO12, European Rugby Challenge Cup (Pool Stage) and Anglo Welsh Cup (Pool Stage) with a total of 14 matches to be played at Rodney Parade. Also included is a ticket to Judgement Day VI at Principality Stadium, and building on the success of the Dragons match against Cardiff Blues in Caerphilly in May, one non-Welsh Derby will be taken to another ground in the region.

The build up to the 2017/18 season, and start of pre-season training for the team, coincides with a number of positives change for the Dragons. Stuart Davies continued:

“We have appointed a new head coach in Bernard Jackman, started the installation of a new hybrid pitch and also refreshed our brand and logo. This alongside a considerable works programme on stadium facilities, all of which will be ready for the start of the season”

So what can you expect from Dragons this season? First and foremost, the Dragons are pushing for a greater turnout at Rodney Parade to witness the work of their new partnership with the WRU. Dragons are also keen to become a community hub and an accessible side that contributes to to thriving junior, community and amateur teams in their region hub.

WRU CEO Martyn Phillips, reflecting on the take-over, said:

“Above all we want to safeguard the future of regional rugby in the area and, in turn, support the 73 clubs in the region and their stakeholders.

The new playing surface, new head coach, new signings Gavin Henson, Zane Kircher and a host of existing stars from Lewis Evans, Cory Hill, Hallam Amos and Tyler Morgan alongside young guns Ashton Hewit and Ollie Griffiths will play a part in an exciting season ahead.

Feeding the Welsh international side and recruiting young welsh talent with the aim to produce a healthy stream of international prospects are amongst the Dragon’s top aims this season.“Producing home grown talent is a primary ambition for any successful sports team and it will be vital to the long-term success of the Dragons” said Dragons new head coach Bernard Jackman.

A rock in the history of Irish Rugby, Jackman was previously head coach of Top 14 side Grenoble before leaving in March this year. He has also coached at Newbridge and Clontarf RFC and as a player has won the European Cup with Sale Sharks (2002) and both the Celtic League (2009) and the Heineken Cup (2009) with Leinster.

Dragons have put together a compelling membership pack that, thanks to sponsors and partners, enables supporters to enjoy exclusive discounts and offers at Rodney Parade and across the region. There will also be exclusive member events and priority bookings on away travel and international tickets. Stuart Davies continued:

“This season we will continue to focus on our big screen camera production, matchday entertainment and ‘We Fight Any Claim Family Zone.

“These give our supporters the best possible match day experience and value from their Membership, while creating one of the best atmospheres in rugby.”
