The Lion Hotel is a roaring success with its customers, both for its fine selection of traditional dishes and as a great place to stay when exploring the local attractions.

The Lion is not just a stylish, multi-awardwinning gem of a hotel, not merely a wonderfully atmospheric restaurant – it’s an experience, a real taste of Wales that many of its guests have been searching for but never previously found.

Diners can opt to eat in the luxurious restaurant or choose from a wide variety of bar snacks to enjoy in the stylish lounge.

Food is served daily from noon until 3pm for lunch Monday to Thursday, and from noon until 5pm on Friday and Saturday. The a la carte menu is served from 6pm until 9pm in the restaurant, where you can choose from a tempting choice of handcrafted starters and sumptuous main courses.

Delights on this menu include Welsh pork belly, venison haunch steak, shallot tart tatin, and an 8oz fillet steak. Children can also get to sample great tasting high-quality food too with a special menu just for them.

The Lion Hotel has become famous for its Sunday lunch, which is served every week from noon to 4pm.

There’s always a varied choice of roasts to choose and also vegetarian and fish options too. Sunday lunch starts from £9.95, where booking in advance is preferred.

Not only is this a great place to dine at any time of the year, but The Lion Hotel also makes for the perfect place to stay if you’re looking to explore the wonder of this historic town and not forgetting the world famous Big Pit.
