We see it every year; adverts and articles everywhere encouraging you to over-indulge in December, closely followed by New Year, New You campaigns that aim to fill you with regret and self-loathing in order to encourage you to invest in fad diets and fitness crazes. Many fitness
facilities will follow this pattern, but at Newport Live we believe in doing things differently.

In January – and throughout the year – we will never tell you that you need to look a certain way to be happier and healthier; our aim is to support you with your health and fitness goals, and help you achieve them realistically and safely. Want to make New Years’ resolutions? Our team will help you set targets and keep you on track to succeed. A Newport Live Membership will give you unlimited access to our gyms, group exercise classes, public swimming times and racquet sports.

Unlike other providers, your membership also includes your gym orientation, bespoke fitness programmes, health checks and more - at no extra cost. We don’t charge a joining fee, and we won’t tie you in to a contract.

On top of this, we’re a registered charitable trust, which means that the money we make is ploughed back into the services we offer in our centres and also across Newport – unlike other fitness providers, the only people who profit from Newport Live is the local community! Book an Orientation
when you join Lots of people decline the offer of an orientation (often referred to as an induction) when they join a fitness centre. Even if you don’t think you will use the gym, we highly recommend taking advantage of meeting a member of the fitness team. As well as showing you where lockers and changing facilities are, how to use the turnstiles and equipment, it’s a great opportunity to discuss your goals and the support we can offer. It’s also included in your membership, and you can book one at any time – you don’t have to be a new member!

Get a Bespoke Training Programme
Ever walked into a gym and felt overwhelmed by all of the equipment?
Perhaps you just stick to the same exercises each session, or you’re
not sure if you’re getting the best workout! You’re far more likely to
achieve results if you stick to a programme, and our team can make
sure you have one that is specific to your goals whilst also taking into
account your current fitness levels, preferred activities, and amount of
time each week you can dedicate to exercise. On top of this, you’ll feel
great as the exercises get easier the fitter you become. You won’t get bored, as your instructor will review your progress after a few weeks and set you some new challenges! As with orientations, programme reviews are included in your membership, and you can book one at any time.

Try New Things!
Not a gym fan? Don’t worry – your Newport Live Membership ensures you have access to over 120 group exercise classes each week, public swimming sessions in our pools, and a variety of racquet sports! Classes include Group Cycling, Zumba, Aqua, Yoga, Kettlebells and more –
there really is something for everyone. You can still track your goals by meeting an instructor for regular reviews.

Have a Health Check
Our Fitness Team can discuss far more than exercise with you. They can check your blood pressure, take measurements, and offer support with food diaries and general help and advice. Health Checks can help support your goals whether you’re looking to lose or gain weight, tone up or you just want to become fitter and healthier.
