The New Theatre’s summer 2016 season may very well be the most exciting in its 110-year history, with a mix of blockbuster musicals, classic drama and some of the world’s greatest performers.

Drama fans are in for a treat with a wide selection to choose from. As well as No Man’s Land starring Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, there’s Of Mice and Men, Goodnight Mister Tom, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The 39 Steps, Shadowlands, The Mousetrap and Dead Sheep. We are also extremely pleased to welcome the National Youth Theatre of Wales with Romeo and Juliet.

We have plenty on offer for musicals fans to get their feet tapping. American Idiot, Dancing in the Streets, Blues Brothers Approved, Guys and Dolls, Save the Last Dance for Me, Ghost the Musical and Little Shop of Horrors are all on their way. Georgia May Foote (Strictly Come Dancing and Coronation Street) will play Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s and, due to high demand, we’re thrilled to announce The Rocky Horror Show will be back in November.

As you may already know, we are one of the venues hosting events for Cardiff’s first ever Festival of Voice. At the New Theatre you can catch performances from Hugh Masakela & Larry Willis, Anna Calvi, The Hot Sardines and Keaton Henson. Comedy fans will want to join Garry Delany, Pete Firman, Jarred Christmas and Sean Hughes for All Star Stand Up.

Dance fans should check out Keep Dancing with Strictly… favourites Robin Windsor and Louis Smith. Younger dancers take to the stage as English Youth Ballet are here in August with their production of The Sleeping Beauty.

For younger theatre-goers we have the always popular The Gruffalo’s Child and The Birmingham Stage Company returns with George’s Marvellous Medicine. Then, for the Christmas season, joining firm favourite Mike Doyle in our Peter Pan family pantomime is international superstar David Hasselhoff as Captain Hook!
