If you’re looking for sheer theatrical excitement the New Theatre some very fine thrillers on offer: Kara Tointon and Keith Allen star in Gaslight, an ensemble cast brings Ruth Rendell’s A Judgement in Stone to the stage, the powerful courtroom drama The Verdict receives its world stage premiere starring Clive Mantle and Jack Shepherd, the eternally chilling
Woman in Black returns and they welcome the world premiere production of Not Dead Enough from the modern master of suspense, Peter James.

We have three cracking comedies coming up: the international smash-hit The Play That Goes Wrong, Ray Cooney’s fast-paced Westminster farce Out of Order and the first major revival of Willy Russell’s life-affirming Shirley Valentine, starring Jodie Prenger.

There’s great entertainment for all the family including Fantastic Mr Fox and Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom.

Completing the season will be a spectacular new production of La Cage aux Folles, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s masterpiece, Evita, returning in what is considered to be one of the best productions of this much-loved musical; Arthur Miller’s powerful play The Crucible will appeal to fans of classic drama and after two years away Northern Ballet presents Casanova, a seductive spectacular in April. Whatever your taste, there is something for everyone this season at the New Theatre.
