Embarking on its sixth year Literature, Caerleon once again brings together the cream of contemporary Welsh writing suitably augmented by a unique debunker of the status quo from across the bridge.

Recently returned from the campaign trail, bibliophile and ITVWales’ political editor, Adrian Masters will be on hand to help guide proceedings.

The line up of authors will include Derek Johns who, for many years, was literary agent for the travel writer, Jan Morris – he has recently brought out his book Ariel commemorating her life and work. Also will be Kate Hamer the writer of the 2015 bestseller, The Girl in the Red Coat and Cynan Jones – author of four novels including Bird, Blood, Snow, a retelling of a medievalWelsh myth.

Tom Bullough author of The Claude Glass and, most recently, the widely acclaimed, Addlands. He is currently a visiting Fellow at the University of SouthWales. Finally Mab Jones, a “unique talent” – author of Poor Queen in 2014 followed by Take Your Experience and Peel It. She recently presented a poetry programme on BBC Radio 4. A line up not to be missed.

Finally in the evening there will be performance poet Attila the Stockbroker set to read pieces from his newly published collection Undaunted – the title says it all – the world is going nuts, Attila the Stockbroker is writing about it.

Attila the Stockbroker has toured the world performing his sharp-tongued, radical social surrealist poetry and songs, releasing over 40
CDs/LPs/singles, nine books of poetry and his autobiography.

He will be joined by Patrick Jones who is considered by many to be one of Wales’ most resonant contemporary poets. Prominent among his work is the play Everything Must Go, whose title was subsequently appropriated by Manic Street Preachers for the title of their fourth studio album.
