Newport Playgoers present Nunsense, the tale of the Little Sisters of Hoboken and their crazy antics after the convent cook serves up some dodgy soup resulting in 52 nuns dying of botulism.

In dire need of funds for the funerals, the five surviving nuns decided to stage a variety show with hilarious show-stopping song and dance routines to aise the money.

There follows a hail of fun and frolics as they try to achieve their aim - before the health department finds the bodies in the freezer!

The nuns ineract with the audience and take turns singing solos that offer insight into their personalities and the roles they play within the convent.

written in classical show-tune style, Nunsense features a lot of zingers, sight gags, tap dancing and comic surprises which are still funny 25 years after the show first opened before going on to become an international phenomenon.

Nunsense is at the Dolman Theatre from June 17 - 20 at 7:15pm, with a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2:30pm. There will be signing for the deaf and hard of hearing members of the audience at the Saturday night performance.
