An exciting programme of events runs throughout the year for all ages and interests at Llancaiach Fawr including historical re-enactments, children’s activity days and exciting family days out.

Two great up and coming events this December include ‘Tudor Treats’ on Sunday 13 and 20, and also ‘Elvis is in the building’ featuring multi-award winning Dean Mack on December 11 and 12 – playing hits from the movies and his solo career.

Visitors step back in time to 1645 and are welcomed into the manor by the costumed servants who are busily preparing for Christmas making candles, soap balls and pomanders.

The Manor House restored and furnished as it would have been in 1645. All the furnishings in the rooms are accurate reproductions of items from the time of the Prichard’s in the 16th and 17th centuries, and many of the originals can be found in the Museum ofWelsh Life at St Fagans.
As guests to the home of Colonel Pritchard you are encouraged to join in these festivities and take these delightful Christmas items home to give to friends and family.

Each Sunday in December the music master will be at the manor playing festive songs, singing and dancing with guests of the colonel and Mrs Pritchard. This day of family fun is priced at £7.95 for adults and £6.50 for concessions.

Once families have finished the festive tour and met with its residents, they can then learn lots more at the visitor centre which houses an exhibition about the history of the manor, and also offers a gift shop stocking a wide range of Christmas gifts, books and jewellery.

If you’re feeling peckish, why not take a well-deserved break at its licensed coffee lounge and conservatory restaurant? Light snacks and lunches, as well as all day breakfasts are served daily, using locally sourced and fresh produce ingredients.

Sunday lunch is a firm favourite at Llanciach Fawr. Booking in advance is highly recommended. Call 01443 414011 to reserve a table.

Fresh from the Porthcawl Elvis festival, Dean Mack is ready to shake things up with his award winning performance on December 11 and 12.

Doors open at 7.30pm, with the show starting at 8.30pm. Spaces are limited, and tickets are priced at £15 per person, which also includes chicken and chips during the interval. Don’t miss out on this great night of family entertainment. Call now to secure tickets for this amazing show.
