If you’re not in the mood for the usual festive fayre this Christmas, then why not get a curry instead?

This popular Indian take-away, located on Cardiff Road opposite Newport’s Police Headquarters, is owned by a family who has more than 60 years’ worth of running successful eateries within the city.

“We offer a wide range of beautifully cooked food, using the finest locally sourced ingredients,” said owner Ray.

“Popular dishes including balti, tandoori, jalfrazzi and masala curries, which are prepared using the freshest produce and spices by our experienced chefs.

“Our chefs have many years’ experience in home style cooking and will definitely prepare you a meal to ignite your taste buds with their flavoursome signature dishes and house specialities.

“For truly adventurous people why not try something different and pick a dish from the chef’s specials?

“Tempting options from the Chef’s Specials menu include Punjabi Butter Chicken, and Mughali Murgh Massallam – both of which we have prepared for Voice to photograph as well as dishes from our main menu such as Methi Gusht and Chicken Tikka Masala.

“Our takeaway menu is very competitively priced, which is reflected in the great-quality produce that we use.

“We offer a home delivery service to anywhere in Newport for a small extra charge of £1, with a minimum order of £12.

“Customers receive a 10% discount if orders over £12 are collected.

The Mughlai Kitchen is open seven days a week from 5pm until 11:30pm each evening.
