Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Countryside and Landscape Service and Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, in conjunction with our main sponsor Nikwax and our partners, Lets Walk Cymru, Caerphilly Adventure Group, Caerphilly Ramblers, Islwyn Ramblers, and Coleg Gwent, are once again throwing down a SERIOUS challenge for walkers and runners of all abilities. The start and finish of this years’ challenge is Cross Keys College. Following on from the successful Wild Boar 2017, the challenge continues in the stunning surrounds of the Sirhowy and Ebbw Valleys with its challenging terrain and commanding views.

• 1-5 mile route (led walk)* Pre entry and entry on the day.
• 10 mile route (led walk).
• 15 mile route (self-led challenge and led walk).
• 20 mile route (self-led challenge and led walk).

The 10, 15 and 20 mile challenges costs £10 to enter. Closing date:Wednesday, May 2. The 1-5 mile route which costs just £2, can be entered in advance or on the day. There is no minimum age and all proceeds go to the mayors’ charity. CAUTION: Taking part in this challenge will benefit your health, make you feel adventurous, take you through spectacular valleys, woodland, farmland, hill tops (Twmbalrwm,MynyddMachen and Mynydd Islwyn) and riverside. And you may even be treated to some fantastic views (weather permitting) across the county borough.
