Being the face of Friars walk has all sorts of perks. One of them being that I get asked to give my opinion on the shopping arcade and other facilities that the great city of Newport has to offer.

On my most recent visit to Newport, I was asked to attend a screening of the new movie titled “Instant Family” at Cineworld, Friars Walk on a Sunday.

The movie is about Pete (Mark Wahlberg) and Ellie (Rose Byrne) decide to start a family, they stumble into the world of foster care adoption. They hope to take in one small child but when they meet three siblings, including a rebellious 15-year-old girl (Isabela Moner), they find themselves speeding from zero to three kids overnight. Now, Pete and Ellie must hilariously try to learn the ropes of instant parenthood in the hopes of becoming a family.

This film screening wasn’t showing until 2.50pm, so I had time to surf through all the great stores in hope of finding some absolute BARGS ready for my summer holidays.

This venture was an amazing success due to all my favourite stores having great sales and reductions which I just couldn’t resist.

After I was all shopped out, I ended my day ready to relax and watch the new movie.

As I walked into the cinema, I was startled by how lavish the interior design was. Bright neon lighting and a comfy seating area for customers, not to mention the popcorn and sweet cabinets that gave off the most glorious aromas.

While collecting my tickets I was greeted by a lovely member of staff who couldn’t do enough to accommodate me. She explained the different deals, and helped me to create my perfect Combo, nothing was too much bother. With being taller than most I always struggle to get comfortable in cinemas due to zero leg room and uncomfortable seating, but this was not the case at Cineworld.

The auditorium was HUGE boasting a sea of velvet seats with ample leg room and a ginormous screen with superb sound which engulfed the room making me more engrossed in the movie.

Instant family is basically about adoption, and it was great to see the film makers addressing the issue in a light-hearted way.

The film featuring some of the best actors and actresses was based on a true story which had me laughing and crying throughout. The performances were great – everyone played a great part and told the story line well. Even the little children were amazing actors.

My favourite character had to be Lita. She was so young and played a terrific part. She had some great scenes and had me laughing all the time.

The most rememberable line of the movie for me was “You’ve got to laugh, or you’ll never make it through." I love this quote as it's so true. In day to day life, things can be difficult, but if you stay calm, try to make light of the situation, nothing will ever be a big issue.

In my opinion the movie was a strong 9/10 a proper tear jerker but featured a great ending. I highly recommend Cineworld for a great day out for all ages come rain or shine!
