On Sunday 1 September over 9,000 runners are expected to take to the streets of the capital, for Wales’ largest 10K road race. The 2019 Cardiff Metropolitan University Cardiff 10K & 2K Fun Run, powered by leading Welsh charity Kidney Wales has become a key event in our nations calendar, growing in numbers year on year raising an incredible amount of money in support of race organisers Kidney Wales and other good causes.

What better way to take in some of the city’s most iconic landmarks! This year’s route will pass some of the city’s most well-known sights including City Hall, the historic Cardiff Castle and one of the most well-known stadiums around The Principality Stadium. This scenic course is extremely fast and flat, perfect for those competing in their first 10K, or those looking for a personal best.

There is something for the entire family, with the option of taking part in the 2K Fun Run at 9.15am prior to the main 10K race at 10am. Make sure you arrive nice and early to soak up the incredible race day atmosphere within the runners’ village at the Civic Centre. It is jam packed with entertainment for all, refreshments and thousands of spectators which will most certainly help make this race day one to remember.
