Voice’s Beauty Studio of the Month will be celebrating its first-year anniversary on February 2.
It is the brainchild of former Miss Wales finalist Charlotte Henson, who has spent the past decade within the industry perfecting her skills as a beautician – first working within a popular salon in Malpas, then while travelling the world, working in beauty studios in Australia, and finally for herself from home for the last three years, building up a long list of clientele ranging from age 16 up to 96.
At the end of 2018, a shop on Corporation Road became available on the market. Charlotte jumped at the chance to open a studio of her own, especially as it being located so close to where she lives and opened the doors to Charlotte’s Studio Beauty on February 2.
“I can’t believe how quickly the first year has gone,” Charlotte told Voice.
“I’ve expanded so much in such a short space of time. I started on my own, then quickly asked my mother Jane to join me as she specialises in massage and Dermaplaining facials with LED Light Therapy – adding something extra to the list of services.
“My mother has always inspired me throughout my life, and she’s been a huge support for me while opening my own business.
“A few months down the line, while talking to one of my clients, Danielle Williams informed me that she was highly trained as a lash technician specialising in hybrid and Russian style lashes, so I asked her to join the team, thus again expanding the services offered.
“My area of expertise lies within nails and microblading, as my passion has always been about eyebrows – a perfectly shaped brow can frame and transform one’s face.
“As a team, we are constantly looking to add new and innovative treatments to our list of services. The lastest being Danielle training with Brow Lamination about the latest trend for fluffy ‘model’ brows, which is currently on offer till the end of February for just £25 to achieve this popular new look.
“Additionally, I’ve undertaken training to use a Hyaluron Pen. This easy to operate piece of equipment is a no-needle filler treatment for lips, fine lines and wrinkles – a great alternative for those who fear needles. This treatment can also be used for skin lifting, tightening and pigmentation.
“Other major benefits of using the Hyaluron Pen include being virtually pain free, there’s no swelling, and almost no risks compared to regular injectables. The the mesotherapy treatments that can be done with it include fat loss for double chins, pigmentation/stretch mark lightening, hair restoration and eye contouring.
“As this is a brand new service to the studio, I will be running a competition throughout the month of February on our social media pages to win a Hyaluron Pen treatment – all clients need to do is like and share.
“As each of us specialises in a particular field, this allows us to focus and perfect our skills on that particular treatment. We’re constantly undergoing training on new techniques of the latest trends and advancements within the industry as it changes so quickly.

Treatments at Charlotte’s Studio Beauty include Philbrows Microblading, eyelash extensions, lash lift and tint, CND Shellac of The Gel Bottle manicures, waxing, luxury facials, Dermaplaning, and Indian head massage to name but a few. Group packages are available for large parties, such as hen dos and bridal parties, and gift vouchers are also available to treat someone this Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Charlotte’s Studio Beauty is open five days a week from Tuesday to Saturday, and treatments are offered by appointment only (average treatment time is 45- 60mins).
